STIX Oscillator
STIX is a short-term trading oscillator oscillator, which was published in Polymetric report. It compares the amount of volume flowing into advancing and declining stocks.
Calculation:
STIX is based on a variation of the Advance / Decline Ratio:
A / D Ratio = (Advancing Issues / (Q + Advancing Declining Issues)) * 100
The STIX is a 21-period exponential moving average of the above, A / D Ratio. In MetaStock this would be:
STIX = Mov ((Advancing Issues / (Q + Advancing Declining Issues)) * 100.21, E)
To construct the STIX in MetaStock for Windows you will need to perform the following steps:
â ¢ The downloader for Windows create a composite of promoting Questions + Declining issues.
â ¢ In MetaStock open the composite and promotion issues
â ¢ Schedule the charts, so they both can be viewed.
â ¢ Drag the plot of the Composite pattern in advancing the issues.
â ¢ Creating a custom formula: Mov ((C / P) * 100,21, E)
â ¢ Hire this formula on top of the composite action of promoting Questions table. (The plot of the composite would turn purple in color when the formula will draw on it)
â ¢ You can then drag that new plot to separate the inner window, if desired.
For interpretation refer to Polymetric report.
