Width Thrust
Width Thrust indicator is a market momentum indicator developed by Dr. Martin Zweig. Width Thrust is calculated by taking the 10-day exponential moving average of advancing issues divided by the promotion plus declining issues.
According to Dr. Zweig breadth Thrust occurs when, during a 10-day period, the breadth Thrust indicator rises from below 40 per cent to over 61.5 per cent. A "Thrust" indicates that the stock market is rapidly changing from an oversold condition of the force, but have not yet become overbought.
Dr. Zweig also points out that there were only 14 Width thrusts of 1945. The average gain next 14 hands was 24.6 percent on average within 11 months. Dr. Zweig also points out that most bull markets begin with a stroke width.
