Autumn And Winter Jackets : A Short Guide For Women

By Mark Walters

There are hundreds of types of jackets out there to choose from at the moment. Sometimes it can be a little daunting deciding which ones to buy. We can help you make some good choices though. Bomber jackets are popular right now. They come in a variety of styles and colors, as you would expect. There's always popular leather bomber, plus variations in suede, amongst others. These jackets are padded and warm. They come with useful features, such as lots of pockets for stuffing your hat and gloves into, and a full length zip to keep out the wind.

If you want a more tailored jacket option, look no further than the blazer. These are an ideal way to look smart at work or to keep warm on a night out. Pinstripes are brilliant for a quirky yet still formal look or you could try wearing a bright-colored blazer for a nice winter style statement. The clean cut of the tailoring means that they are very flattering - fantastic for transitioning between seasons.

But perhaps smart tailoring isn't for you. Perhaps you want to be able to layer your clothes under a looser jacket and still be comfortable. If this is you, then you'll love the parka. Traditionally khaki, but available in other colors, the parka is this seasons epitome of laidback winter chic. Go for a fur trimmed hood and padded jacket if you want to be truly warm on those cold days, or perhaps investigate the longer options available to keep you covered when the weather turns for the worse.

Or, how about trying a longer duffle coat? These coats are fantastically warm and generally loose fitting, which means you can wear them over layers without feeling cramped or too hot. The main style feature of duffle coats is their buttons, which come in a fantastic array of toggles in either wood or plastic, and the coats also come in a range of lengths for maximum versatility mixed with practicality.

If you're looking to make a bigger statement with your winter coat choice, military style jackets are fashionable right now. Lots of them come with an embroidered trim in the style of real life army jackets. Their great tailoring means you can be certain of looking great regardless of the occasion. These jackets look best in shades of khaki. Their buttons are an interesting feature, so be sure to make the most of them.
