MONEY FLOW INDEX indicator

CASH FLOW INDEX
Taken from stocks and commodities, ext. 12:08 (321-324): Sidebar: Money Flow Index
"Money Flow Index (MFI) is a volume-weighted form of relative strength index (RSI). Instead of using closed versus down closes, the MFI compares today's average price average price of yesterday, and then weighs the average price per volume to calculate money flow (MF). The ratio of summed positive and negative money flows are then normalized to be on a scale from zero to 100. "
Here MetaStock ™ formula for Money Flow Index:
Positive Cash Flow:
sum (if (Typ (),>, code (Typ (), -1), V * Typ (), 0), periods)
Negative Cash Flow:
sum (if (Typ (), <, ref (Typ (), -1), V * Typ () * -1, 0), periods)
Cash flow ratio:
fml ("Positive Cash Flow") / fml ("Negative Money Flow")
Cash flow Index:
100 - (100 / (1 + fml ("Money Flow Ratio")))
*** The periods are controlled by periods of positive and negative Money Flow formulas.
