fund managers and traders
In the first era of globalization, a symbiotic relation existed between UK financial center of the world, and Germany, Europe's most dynamic industrial economy. A sudden deterioration in relations between the two countries led to war and a retreat from globalization. Today the two countries mainly in the spotlight are the U.S. and China. A worsening political relations between these countries and could trigger off retreat from globalization, as it happened about 100 years back. History tells us that major wars can erupt even when economic globalization is far advanced and the domination of English in the kingdom pretty safe. The longer the world remains without a conflict, the harder it becomes difficult to imagine one. When a crisis hits complacent investors, it causes more disruption than when they beat those battle scarred. The really big crisis came only rarely enough to be outside the living memory of today's bankers, fund managers and traders.
