There are so many people out there that claim to know about Search Engine Optimization and who claim to know what it means to have an SEO-friendly website, it makes one wonder if all of these people really know what the process is all about. Chances are you, the website owner, hired someone with the idea that you were getting great SEO result and found that your results were only mediocre at best.
Oddly enough, it is not just smaller companies that are confused by the entire SEO issue, but larger firms may suffer from SEO confusion. Also, higher priced doesn't always mean better service. Shop around and ask the hard questions before hiring an SEO firm.
The thing to remember is that SEO has changed since the beginning. Search engine algorithms have evolved and are far more sophisticated. This evolution means that the guidelines are continually changing.
A New Idea
SEO is a little more than ten years old. In the beginning, webmasters began optimizing sites by submitting a page or two to search engines that would then send out a searchbot or spider to crawl that page, extract links to the other pages in the site and gather the information found on the pages it finds.
The process involved a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine's own server when a second application, known as an indexer, extracts the information found on the pages. The information about the pages, such as the words found on the pages, links, where everything is located on the page, is then placed into a scheduler to be crawled again at a later date.
Early versions of search engine algorithms relied solely on the webmaster providing information through the metatags, or index files. Metatags provided a kind of road map to the page's content. As soon as webmasters realized this was the procedure, it became an unreliable system because webmasters could manipulate keywords and descriptions so that they had nothing at all to do with the actual page content.
Google is Born in 1998
All of this changed when Google arrived on the scene in 1998. Not only was Google's simple page design appealing to Internet users, users liked the off-page factors such as page ranking and the on-page analysis of a website. This eliminated the keyword manipulation that plagued other search engines.
SEO Today
SEO today is improving the volume of website traffic and the quality of visitors to the site via the use of targeted keywords. An SEO expert has to think like their consumer, and they also have to understand how the algorithms work. SEO should involve the site's code, overall design, text-rich content, accurate navigation and eliminate anything that would prevent a spider from crawling the entire site.
In addition to organic searches to the site, a good SEO firm will establish a pay-per-click advertising campaign to boost site visibility. Google considers popularity a major factor when ranking a page.
A well-conceived plan will attack the web from several different angles at the same time. Social networking is an important factor as well as inbound links. The inbound links have to be chosen carefully and have a relationship to the website in some way. Otherwise, Google may consider the site simply a link farm.

Video marketing: An effective Online Marketing Service
The latest in the line of marketing tools are the Videos. Video marketing is rapidly becoming a huge online marketing service. Several marketers are appearing everyday who are using videos as a tool to reach out to their clients. Several community websites are now providing options to add in videos in their profile, which is giving the companies a huge platform to reach out to their prospective clients.
Video marketing definitely has a greater potential than other online marketing service like email marketing or banner ads, where you were only capturing your viewer visually. Now here is an option where your viewer can not only see you and your product but can also hear what you are saying. This is a very impressive feature, as it enables to build a more personal relation between you and user.
Experience says that customers always find it better to have an opinion from others on a product before they buy it themselves. And you can provide this opportunity to your clients through the video online marketing services. People are used to seeing visual ads on the television where there is an opinion provided to them by a third party other than the buyer and the seller. And having the opportunity to provide a similar concept on the internet is an added bonus to your business online.
The only skill that is required in order to make good use of videos as your online marketing service is to be able to put across your message to your clients. Use the right speech, right language and the right attitude in order to impress your clients. It is not necessary that your promotional video should be in the form of an advertisement only. You have the liberty to incorporate various ideas and thoughts in your video marketing tool. Things like cartoon images, power point presentation, flash movies, gif images along with a sound track are some of the variations which you can use in your video marketing in order to promote your product and service.
Online Marketing Services is a huge concept in itself, an is always welcoming newer and creative ideas. Apart from video marketing, SMS and MMS marketing is the next big thing in internet marketing that are soon going to overshadow all of the current marketing strategies.

Internet Money Making Schemes
It's been a gruelling week at work - the weekend is finally here. It's been particularly tough and you're really fed up of the 9-5 grind and the same job - but you've a mortgage to pay, kids to feed and a family to support. With a well earned beer you sit down at your computer and type something similar to one of these phrases into Google.
"making money online" "working from home" "money making schemes internet" "making millions on internet"
In fact any one of hundreds of similar phrases. Sounds familiar - well I've certainly done it. There in front of your eyes will be the answer to your dreams.
"Make '000s online each month" "Make money online - 100% guaranteed" "I make 20k per month " "How to make £800 in 30 minutes!"
Be your own boss, no skill required, work your own hours, make thousands - the stories go on and on. There will also be lots of advice on avoiding the scams but directing you into another one. The worst of these schemes will generally be in the sponsored Pay per Click ads to the top and right of the results but they are also in the search results. Of course there are legitimate sites offering good advice as well but how can you tell which is which !!
Well common sense generally - remember these scam sites are preying on the fact that you really want to believe them. You want there to be a way of earning 20k a week for minimal effort - because that would change your life. Now stop and think - if you did have this method would you tell everyone on the internet ? Would you sell this method for 100 bucks ?
Of course you wouldn't you'd have to be mad, you'd carry on making that money until it suddenly didn't work any more. Try and think of a scenario where you'd want to sell this huge money making scheme to everyone for a small fee.
Can't think of one? Honestly if you had a fabulous money making idea, you'd guard it, nurture it and protect it. To sell this secret on the internet would endanger it and stop it working ! This is of course only a risk if the method actually worked - if it didn't actually work then the only way to generate cash is to sell it on to suckers like me and you !!
Look for realism, look for truth - if there are lots of pictures of ferraris, bikini clad beauties etc the ad is selling you the idea of being rich not an actual method. Of course the ferrari and the millionaire lifestyle is appealing that's a no brainer - but what about the method of achieving this is it real ???
Sadly in 99.9% of cases it isn't real. There are lots of scams but here's some to watch out for.
Google cash, free google ads, google arbitrage. Lots and lots of schemes promising millions are based on a variation of one of these methods. Basically they suggest utilising Google adwords to generate income via affiliate schemes or adsense. Something along the lines of setting up pay per click adverts and sending them to pages filled with Google Adsense adverts - if you pay less for the PPC ads than you make from the adsense adverts you make money. It is true - but it is difficult and more often than not you will lose money. Similar methods abound and while it is techinically possible to make money - you need to risk capital and you need some experience and skill.
FACT : Most people who use these schemes lose money - except if you're selling the ebook explaining it of course!
Search Engine Optimisation, free traffic. Now of course, you can make money out of web traffic and yes you can generate traffic for free. But you don't need to buy the methods via " make millions on the internet scheme". All the information you need is in the public domain - search on SEO and search engine rankings etc and read everything but don't buy anything. I promise you will learn all that needs to be learnt. BUt again in reality it involves hard work, study and dedication. Basically these methods explain the standard SEO methods but guarantee untold wealth when you follow the standard steps which is simply not true!
There's loads more out there but the important thing to remember is - yes you can make money online but just as anywhere else it generally takes work. Sometimes people figure out ways to make loads of money just like in real life - a gap in the market, some loophole, an untapped market and they do indeed make a fortune - but what they don't do is sell that secret on until it is virtually worthless.
Remember the easiest way to make money on the internet is to sell suckers a non-existant way to make millions.
Be smart and avoid them!

Blogging is the New Internet Marketing Tool
Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential. Here are reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
1) Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn’t?) then you can blog and advertise.
2) Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.
3) Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free. Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.
4) Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.
5) Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is. But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base. Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:
By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site. Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.
By using subscription. An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.
By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences. Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.
By joining a blog network. A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc. Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.
By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.
Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.
